Traditions & Taboos

Did you know that in Cambodian culture, you must always greet your elders from oldest to youngest with your hands clasped together and head bowed down? Or that it is taboo to touch an elder on their head because it is disrespectful and the head is considered the holiest part of the body? You’ll have the opportunity to hear about these cultural narratives and more at Culture Hour: Traditions & Taboos.

Culture Hour is part of a new monthly meet-up series hosted as an unstructured happy-hour. This month we invite you to break the ice by sharing your family’s traditions & taboos. Free and open to the public, this evening will bring together our members and guests for enjoyable, curious, and refreshing conversation to build our community and share each other’s stories about our cultures over food and drinks.

Please join us as we engage in a social experiment to interact with guests, strangers, and maybe new friends.
